2.3 The Paperless Office
Are you weighed down by paper and files in your workspace? Do you spend precious time filing, then flicking through those files, searching for documents? Is your photocopying budget creeping up each year? If you answered “yes” to any or all of these questions this workshop is for you. I will share with you the process I went through to achieve my paperless office. You will be surprised at how achievable this is with a little help from a desktop scanner, a digital signature programme, and a change in mindset. What you learn in this workshop will have you returning to school with the tools to “Make a Difference”.
Wendy Bulloch, Te Totara School
I began my career in the education section in 1996 and my current role is Business Manager at Te Totara Primary School in Hamilton. After a year of being the Waikato Regional Delegate I was honoured to be elected to the position of Secretary of the School Business Managers’ Association in July 2018. While I’m not a tech “geek” I have a passion for technology and believe in using technological tools to their fullest potential to assist in making my job more productive and efficient. This belief has now resulted in my office being “paperless”.

2.4 Retirement and Financial Capability
Statistically we’re living much longer these days. Seeing that we could be retired for 30 years, we’re going to need money coming in. From the age of 65 most New Zealand residents receive NZ Super every fortnight. Additional retirement income above that needs to come from savings, paid work or business activity, or even our home. The more dependent you are on your savings, the more careful your investment approach should be.
Brent Hunt, AdviceFirst Wellington

Founding partner of AdviceFirst as part of The McKibbins Group 14 years’ experience helping clients to get financially on track. Prior to this he had 18 years’ experience in the business and accounting industry. Brent is married with two children, and enjoys mountain biking, road cycling, great wine and helping his children with their sport. Brent is an Authorised Financial Adviser, regulated by the Financial Markets Authority.
